Forgelo keeps a version history for every project. Each generation, template application, and prompt edit creates a new version, so experiments are always safe.
Viewing your versions
Open your project in the editor and find the versions panel. Versions are listed newest first, with the currently published version marked so you always know what visitors are seeing.
Restoring an older version
- Pick the version you want to go back to.
- Click Restore. The version becomes your current working draft.
- Nothing changes on your live site until you publish again.
Restoring does not delete newer versions. You can move back and forth freely.
Publishing a specific version
Publish normally pushes your latest version live. If you have restored an older version, publishing will make that version live. This makes version history a simple way to run before and after comparisons or roll back a change that did not land well with customers.
Common situations
- An edit made things worse. Restore the previous version and try a different prompt.
- You want to experiment freely. Generate as many variants as your quota allows. Your live site stays untouched until you publish.
- You published by mistake. Restore the earlier version and publish again, or unpublish the site entirely.
