Getting started

Generate a website from a prompt

How AI generation works, how long it takes, and how to write prompts that produce great first drafts.

Generation is the heart of Forgelo. You give it a short brief, and it produces a full website draft: structure, copy, layout, and styling.

How it works

  1. Open a project and type your brief in the prompt box.
  2. Click Generate. The job is queued and processed in the background. A typical generation takes around three to four minutes.
  3. When it finishes, the draft appears in the editor as a new version. Nothing is published until you click Publish, so you can generate and review safely.

If a generation fails, it does not count against your quota. Just try again.

Writing a good brief

The more concrete your brief, the better the draft. Useful things to include:

  • What the business does and who it serves.
  • Business name and location.
  • The sections you want, for example services, pricing, testimonials, contact.
  • Tone: professional, warm, playful, premium.
  • Real contact details. If you skip your WhatsApp number, the draft uses a placeholder that you should replace before publishing.

Example: "A wedding photography studio in Bali serving international couples. Elegant and warm tone. Sections: portfolio, packages with prices in USD, about the photographer, FAQ, contact form that sends to WhatsApp +62812xxxxxxx."

Quota and cooldowns

Each generate or edit-by-prompt uses one AI action from your plan's allowance, measured over a rolling 24 hour window. There is also a short cooldown between generations to keep the queue fair. See Understanding your AI action quota for details.
